Hey, Look, This Floor’s Made of Salami!

Belgian Conceptual artist, Wim Delvoye, is the incredible artist behind this faux-marble floor made entirely of salami. The meat mat was featured this past weekend at the Armory Show, which I unfortunately missed out on.

Delvoye is known for his unconventional projects that have been noted around the world. One particularly odd work of Delvoye's portrayed sexual acts in the form of stained glass church windows. Delvoyle had painted Barium on some of his friends who were then x-rayed having sex in a medical clinic. The x-rays were then set in church window pains and exhibited at the Grand Duke Jean Museum of Modern Art (Mudam) in Luxembourg.

Delvoye has plans to work with Daniel Boulud on some artwork for his new wine bar and restaurant that he’s planning in Beijing, designed after Cafe Boulud.
